Hello.

My name is Alexis.

19. Female. California. Currently attending college and lamenting every minute of it. Also I'm an amateur photographer who occasionally makes things but this blog mostly has the stuff I love most; films, television, and older celebrity men who can have it any day.

Currently obsessing over: The Avengers

Enjoyyyy.

Tea

7. Favorite time of day?

8. A memory you cherish?

So this one time last year, when I was going through some really fucked up shit in my life, I eventually broke down in the middle of this place at school and these two amazing friends of mine just grabbed me and gave me the fiercest hugs ever possible and just held me as I cried and it was the sweetest and most endearing thing ever because these guys were always kind of stoic and you know guys, kind of emotionally distant but man they saved my life that day. I felt like I mattered and that I was cared for and despite all this shit I was going through, there were people who were there for me. It was just such a bittersweet moment. So yeah.

Working on this Zine for my art 3d class until it kills me.

It’ll probably take up all of my time.

Well, that, and my photo narrative project. 6 rolls of film, 6 immaculate prints.

Throwing myself into my work so I can distract myself from other shit.

I feel like I don’t know what I want anymore.

But I know what I don’t want. And I know what doesn’t make me happy. And I know that it’s my life and I can walk away from what I don’t want and what doesn’t make me happy.

So that’s that.

So yesterday I shot Moises and Raymond for a film photo assignment. There’s four parts to it having to deal with DOF, fast shutter speed, and slow shutter speed. So I thought some water portraits would be kind of cool. Also, shot some fake blood ones for the DOF but the digital versions were a little weird. I also shot with my digital to see how they would turn out. I think they look pretty good, I hope the film ones come out just as good.

It felt just like old times photographing Moises and Raymond.

Here’s what I did this weekend.

  • Photo-shoot an event
  • Hung out with one friend for nearly half of a day
  • Spent the other half of the day working on my Art 3D project
  • Hung out with another friend in that same day
  • Have been editing photos non-stop for the two shoots I did this and last week
  • Then today, I headed to Whittier dropped off a CD with photos, came back, worked on German hw, and typed up a response for my Art 3D hw.
  • ANNNNNNND
  • Now I’m here.

Anyway productive weekend, enjoy the photos I’m putting up!

busy weekend

Shooting a party tomorrow and then driving to campus on saturday and/or sunday to work on my Art 3D project. Also, might head to the lab for photo class and just finish my projects so that I can get them out the way. Also, have to type a blurb explaining my art 3D project and I think of a couple of statements for my photos. Also, German hw and reading for my counseling class.

I am actually really happy about being this busy/productive.

So this weekend  I spent the night at my cousins because my cousin asked me to do a photoshoot for her clothing line and here are some of the photos from Saturday. Overall, I thought it went rather well, considering we only shot in her apartment and with limited lighting. I really liked the way these came out and I hope her stuff sells.

Here is my tumblr-pic for you anon whoever you are. Enjoy it because it’s the only photo where I’m not making a badger face.

First day of coming back to college was a success! It’s exhausting and it was pouring rain the whole day and I was there from 9am to 7pm and my feet were drenched but it didn’t matter, I was very pleased with my classes. And so very happy. Photo, German, and Art 3D! Plus, I’m actually not the weird introvert in my classes anymore. Well, sorta. Old habits die hard.

Anyways just one class tomorrow and it seems like a real breeze!

You guys, Little Tokyo was a success.

It didn’t even rain and it was a lovely slightly cold but sunny day. My friend and I went to this amazing Mochi place. Pictured are a few of the flavors of mochi the place carried. The place was great, they were only a buck each! I ended up getting strawberry and mint chip then had a strawberry gelato cone(pictured). Then we walked around shopping. I snapped a few shots. Then this guy with a camera came up and wanted a shot of me and my ice cream cone. I went and bought my sister some sweets. We then went into a Japanese market. My friend bought a couple boxes of Japanese tea. And then we went home. I’m very happy I didn’t let the weather discourage me because there was not a rain cloud in sight when we arrived and during our shopping and eating.

Anyways, here’s some photos from our little venture. Most of it is food because c’mon who doesn’t like food?

Last weekend before school starts. Gonna go get ready to head to Little Tokyo with my friend even though it’s raining. I’m even considering taking my camera even though it’s raining. Meh. A little moisture never hurt anyone.
